Zepbound and Mounjaro share the same active ingredient, tirzepatide, manufactured by Eli Lilly. Zepbound is FDA-approved for chronic weight management and, separately, for obstructive sleep apnea in adults with obesity — an indication Mounjaro's diabetes label doesn't carry.
Dose strengths differ by indication
Zepbound's titration schedule and maximum approved dose are calibrated for its weight-management and sleep apnea indications, which is why a Zepbound prescription isn't simply a relabeled Mounjaro prescription even though the molecule is identical.
