Trulicity (dulaglutide) and Ozempic (semaglutide) are both weekly GLP-1 injections approved for type 2 diabetes, and both have cardiovascular risk-reduction indications for patients with established heart disease.
Device design
Trulicity's pen is a single-step, auto-injecting device with the needle hidden throughout the injection, which some patients find easier for needle anxiety. Ozempic's pen requires manually inserting the visible needle before pressing the dose button.
Efficacy and formulary factors
