Tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound) spent time on the FDA's drug shortage list, which similarly opened a legal window for compounding pharmacies to prepare versions of it. The same underlying compounding law that applied to semaglutide applies here.
Same category of concerns
The FDA has flagged similar risks for compounded tirzepatide as for compounded semaglutide: unverified salt forms, dosing and concentration errors, and products marketed outside legitimate, state-licensed compounding channels.
